10 Highest Ranking Hands of Online Poker - Betting Exchange and Online Casino

Poker is a very popular and interesting card game and it is now available on most of the land and online casino, and it can also be found in the betting exchange game. Players placed their bets on the central pot and the winner who has the highest ranking hands will win the pot.  

Each player has 5 cards and it is based of the hierarchy, pre-determined or set rules to determine the winner. Players must understand the ranking of the poker game:

1.) Royal Flush – 5 cards comprise of  Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten in the same suit.

2.) Straight Flush – 5 cards in the same suit and its combination run in sequence.

3.) Four of a Kind – 4 cards have the same value, plus a side card. If more than one player has the “four of a kind”, then the highest “4 of a kind” will win the pot.

4.) Full House- 3 cards have the same value Plus a pair.

5.) Flush – 5 cards comprise of the same suited

6.) Straight – 5 cards run in sequence

7.) Three OF A Kind – 3 cards of the same value Plus two side cards

8.) Two Pairs – 2 different pairs of cards plus a side cards

9.) One Pair – One pair plus 3 side cards. If two players have the same pair value, the next highest card wins. Or the second, or third side cards with the highest value will win the pot.

10.) High card – If none of hands has the abovementioned hands, then the player who has the highest card will win the pot.

Online Poker has become very popular and it is a very exciting game. online poker rooms with small bet levels

i need to make some extra money, but at the same time, i don't want to lose alot. i'm good at poker, but i don't know how good. i need a poker room online (because i'm under 21 but over 18) where i can bet like maybe 50$ max or soemthing.
does anyone know of any sites like this? (also i'd prefer if they accepted paypal...if not, i have visa).

Is pro poker as fake as pro wrestling?

I have played a lot of online poker 10,000 + games and I finally realized poker really is a game of luck. however all you see on espn and travel channel are these so called pro poker players. they all have very memorable personalities ( kind of like pro wrestling). you got the old cowboy, jesus, tiger woods twin, the brat, the loud mouth it goes on and on. Are these people for real? I mean you can fake anything on TV. to me somthing smells fishy. the online poker rooms are making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ by creating the myth that anyone can get rich if they play enough poker. So anyone else think its fixed? or it it really possible to be a true pro poker player?

by the way: I realized that I was addicted to online poker and I have stopped playing. I was not a poor player. I made money just not very much. I would have made more money if I got a second job.

Online poker is nothing like real poker. It has some similarities but it is like comparing badminton to tennis. They are different games, with some similar concepts.

Fact is, poker is a game of skill. Just because you can't win, doesn't mean you can jump to the conclusion that the game is purely luck. I've won a few thousand at it. I have a friend who has won over $100,000 including a seat at the WSOP Main Event two years ago. So I have first hand seen money being won.

So I hate to break it to you, but you simply suck at the game. If you had really learned the game, studied hard, practiced hard, you would have never come to the conclusion it was a game of luck.

On any given day you can be lucky or unlucky, but it is skill that will ensure long term results, which is what poker is all about.

Online Poker Pleased France Will Revise Tax

Beginning in January 2010 the French government will start to regulate and tax online gambling. Online poker players have been watching the news closely as the proposed tax regulations in France come closer to reality. French authorities made a change last week in the way they are proposing to tax online poker, much to the relief of online casinos and poker rooms. The tax on online poker will go from 2% of player stakes, to 2% of the pots. The revision is in the wake of repeated calls for changes from the online poker industry, which claimed the 2% player stake tax would make games they offered uncompetitive.

Alexandre Dreyfus ChiliPoker's chief executive officer told EGRmagazine recently, "We are all very glad that we were consulted by the French government and that our views were taken seriously. Although the set up is not ideal - we want to be able to offer French players the possibility to play against players from other countries, especially for tournament games - the hope is that legislation will evolve with time," It is estimated that the French tax authorities will end up with about 30% of the revenue generated by the pots offered by the online poker industry. It is thought that the revisions will allow online poker bet operators to be more competitive and therefore raise the interest in the game in France, which in turn will return more taxes to the coffers of the government.

The European Online Poker Gaming Betting Association has been critical of the proposed French draft bill on online gambling poker regulations and in particular sportsbetting. In order to "preserve the integrity of sports" the French government has proposed that operators pay sport federations for the right to offer markets on their events. French Gaming and Betting law detractors such as the EGBA have positioned themselves as watchdogs for the new legislation and have said that the draft French law is in conflict with the EC Treaty and the European Court of Justice (ECJ) case law. They have described the proposed law as "problematic".

Real money with online poker.?

So I've played poker since highschool. Just games with friends, but I usually come out on top at those games. About a month ago I decided to try pokerstars and I've been playing with the play money. I'm sitting with a few million chips now and I'm not sure what to think about it. It is play money so people are alot loser, but the people I've been playing against have been getting better and I'm enjoying the games that much more.
So should I be confident enough in my game to bet real money online?
What's a good starting amount and what tables are best for someone who's most comfortable with $1/$2 home games?

That depends on you, but you should think twice before making a decision. There is a difference between playing gambling w/o real money and gambling with real money.

First, you will be pressured to win the game unlike before when you are just playing virtual money.
